My Town Edmonton

My town is Edmonton. I grew up here and have lived here most of my life (I lived in Calgary for a bit too). I love exploring Edmonton! Parks, restaurants, festivals, markets and shops.Edmonton has diverse and constantly expanding ways to spend your time in a fabulous city. One of the best things about being a wedding photographer in Edmonton is meeting the people who live here and hearing their stories about the city. A great example of this is a recent engagement shoot Conni and I photographed. Dave and Ini wanted to use Edmonton locations that meant something special to them for their engagement photos. So we started off at the location of their first date: The Tea Girl. The staff at the tea girl were AMAZING! They even reserved the very table Dave and Ini sat at on their first date (plus they make some yummy London Fogs).

After drinking our Tea (London Fogs for them and Iced tea for Conni and me) we took a few pictures outside the shop!

I even got in on the action 🙂 The-tea-girl-edmonton-engagement_0012.jpg

Then we drove to another date location in Edmonton’s downtown core. Dave and Ini love to stroll along the walkway that overlooks Victoria Golf course. Honestly, this was a new location for Conni and I, neither of us have ever been to this area of Edmonton before (and it’s only a short walk from The Tea Girl)! That’s one of the things about My Town: Edmonton, it’s constantly surprising me 🙂

Racing against the light we made it to our final “date inspired” location, William Hawrelak Park. Dave and Ini set up a little picnic in the park complete with fruit, wine and a romantic candle.

Braving epic mosquitoes and daring joggers we took Ini and Dave’s fabulous cruiser bike for a turn in the Edmonton River Valley.

Just to prove how totally brave we were, here is an outtake of Dave and Ini swatting mosquitoes while a jogger photobombs us 😉 The-tea-girl-edmonton-engagement_0026.jpg
